About John Jay College of Criminal Justice

John Jay College of Criminal Justice is a senior college of the City University of New York in Midtown Manhattan, in New York City, the largest city in USA, by population, housing more than 8 million people, within its limits, according to the 2009 census estimate. New York is also an important center for international affairs and the center of the New York metropolitan area, which is one of the most populous metropolitan areas in the world.


John Jay was established in 1964 and is the only liberal arts college with a criminal justice focus in the United States. It offers criminal justice education and research and it is a training facility for local, state, and federal law enforcement personnel. It gets its name from John Jay, who was the first chief justice of the United States Supreme Court and one of the founding fathers of the United States.


Athletics

John Jay's athletic teams are known as the Bloodhounds and they compete in NCAA Division III. Their distinctive colors are blue and gold.
